Founder Story

Samantha Didion, Founder of The StratComm Collective, built her career at the intersection of journalism, public relations, and design. With a background spanning newsrooms, crisis communication, and nonprofit engagement, she brings a unique blend of experience that shapes the firm’s strategic and creative approach.

Samantha has always been captivated by the power of communication—how words, visuals, and symbols shape perception, influence decisions, and inspire action. Throughout her career, she has seen how the right message can capture attention, change minds, and move communities.

Her professional journey began in broadcast journalism, where she worked as a multimedia journalist, producer, and anchor in southern Oregon during one of the most intense periods in recent history: the COVID-19 pandemic, destructive wildfires, political protests, and a national election. These experiences honed her ability to think quickly, communicate clearly under pressure, and manage sensitive information with accuracy and care.

After journalism, Samantha transitioned into strategic communications, deepening her expertise in public relations, community engagement, and crisis communication. In the fire service—both locally and nationally—she managed press releases, coordinated media interviews, guided crisis responses, and led outreach through social media, newsletters, and focus groups. She later joined a national fire association, where she produced a podcast, authored wildfire articles, and directed high-impact social media campaigns.

Her experience also includes working with nonprofits and a community development corporation, where she facilitated public events, led community meetings, and helped organizations build visibility and trust through authentic engagement.

Every role has reinforced her belief in communication that is strategic, creative, and intentional. The StratComm Collective is the culmination of her experiences in newsrooms, boardrooms, crisis centers, and community spaces—founded on one mission: to help organizations communicate with clarity, credibility, and impact.
